Kimberly received her Master’s in the Art of Counseling: Community Counseling in 2014 from Regis University in Denver, Colorado. She was first introduced to DBT through her Master’s clinical internship, at Noeticus Counseling Center and Training Institute. During this program she was able to explore how skill building and mindfulness can intertwine with her interest in Ecopsychology and love of nature adventures. Her journey with counseling began back when she graduated in 2007 with her Bachelors in Psychology from the University Of Minnesota Twin Cities. Her first job straight out of college was providing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy for youth diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. She continues to value this population and focuses on assisting clients with their goals of integrating with society, while also advocating for society to welcome neurodiversity. Since 2010, she has had many different roles within clinics, residential programs, and farms, with the purpose of supporting individuals with severe mental illness and experiencing mental health crisis. At PDBTI, she is a part of the Teen and Family Program.
