A Virtual Psychoeducational Support Group for Parents & Caregivers of Struggling Teens
Thrive is excited to announce a new virtual support group for parents of teens whose child is struggling with emotional and behavioral concerns beyond what is typical of adolescence. This psychoeducational group is informed by years of research on effectively managing high risk, dysregulated and troubling teen behaviors, and will offer parents a place to learn:
- Effective, practical, evidence-based ways to manage conflict and emotional outbursts with your teen
- Ideas for improving communication, collaboration and problem solving within your family system
- Guidelines for setting and maintaining effective boundaries while supporting your teens in increasing communication and decreasing unskillful behaviors
Attendees will have access to:
- Eight, 90-min psychoeducational groups facilitated weekly by Kristen Schuch, LPC, a seasoned DBT clinician with expertise in supporting teens and families
- Two, 30-min check-ins with the group leader (once at intake, once near group end)
- Access to pre-recorded videos of session content (in case you need to miss a week)
- Handouts reviewing key strategies and concepts
- A genuine, supportive, parent- and caregiver-only space guided by an expert clinician
Who can attend:
- Any parent or caregiver of a teen aged 13-18 struggling with emotional or behavioral challenges
- This group is especially beneficial as a first step for parents & caregivers whose teens are unwilling to engage in their own therapy
Details:
- Group will meet weekly on Thursdays from 11:30am – 1pm via Zoom
- Next cohort starting March 5, 2026
- Cost is $1000 (incl. $100 initial deposit to hold spot). Discount available for multiple caregivers of the same teen
